Be original and be glamourous: Raima Sen

What’s in your make-up bag?
A kajal and lip balm — I’ve always believed these two things do wonders to one’s face.

Describe your skincare routine
Baby oil for removing make-up at night and once in 20 days I try and get a facial done. A good cleansing milk is extremely important, post that a toner.

What’s your go-to beauty look for a red carpet event?

Smokey eyes and subtle lips, they work best and look good for any event.

What do you think is sexy, beauty-wise?
Be original and be glamourous! Also, I think a person’s eyes speaks volumes, so do them up well.

Who were your idols growing up?
My mother Moon Moon and grandma Suchitra Sen.

Any tips you’ve taken from beauty artists and use daily?
A sunblock is a must everyday, whether indoors or out and applied 20 minutes before going out. Also, drink lots of water and use a moisturiser before sleeping at night after cleaning your face.

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve tried in the name of beauty?
Funky hair and black lips.

What product do you turn to for a beauty boost?
Moisturiser and a kajal.

Do you have a signature fragrance?
Chanel no 5 — it’s classic, original and the best by far.

Do you gravitate toward a lip colour and if so, which shade?
Red or nude, I love them.

Do you switch your make-up based on your hair colour?

No, never! Who does that?

What’s your favourite beauty moment?
I love it when I’m shooting for a magazine or even after working out, my skin really glows so love those moments.

Do you think it’s important to stick with a signature look?
No, not at all. One could experiment but it’s best to know what you are gonna try and think it over on how it would look on you. Don’t get impulsive.

Are you good at applying your own make-up?
Yes, pretty much. Been in the industry long enough to know so.

Have you ever had any beauty disasters?
None and am thankful for that.

What’s your ultimate beauty tip?
Be natural... less is more

What’s the best beauty compliment you’ve ever received?

That I’ve got good skin and my eyes speak volumes.
