Mirzya, that releases today, will introduce two new faces in the industry — Harshvardhan Kapoor and Saiyami Kher. Both of them are very different from each other — Saiyami has this old-world charm whereas Harsh is very new-age, up-to-date about everything in life. But their bonding is for everyone to see.
We sit with the two newcomers for a round of 21 Questions and the two actors hit it out of the ballpark with their camaraderie. More than a competition (like it usually is with rapid fires!), these two were helping each other complete their answers. Read on...
Saiyami: Sachin Tendulkar! I love him. He inspires me so much. Not many know that I love sports and I am very good at it. So yeah, he’s my hero.
Harsh: Can I be honest? I don’t have heroes!
S: Amitabh Bachchan. There’s no one better than him.
H: From Bollywood or Hollywood? I would pick Brad Pitt and Ryan Gosling. They are fab artistes.
S: How little I know and how much I need to learn...
H: To keep going.. no matter what!
H: I sleep too much!
S: (Thinks) Maybe not be so emotional...
H: (Cuts in) And not be so idealistic about romance!
S: I don’t want to change. I like it.
S: I have to be a girl, so Wonder Woman!
H: I think I’m playing Bhavesh Joshi, which is more a vigilante film and heroic, even if not a superhero.
S: Amitabh Bachchan. I envy Shraddha because she did Teen Patti with him! (Smiles)
H: Priyanka Chopra. I love her!
S: Ranbir Kapoor, possibly!
H: Maybe, Alia!
H: I love the choices that Ranbir Kapoor makes. Also, Ranveer Singh was exceptional in Lootera.
S: I love Alia. I think she’s by far the best in the current lot. No one can deny that. She can pull off any role. And I think Highway will always remain a benchmark for me as a performer.
H: Be a writer who travels.
S: Go to Ladakh for a trek!
H: Promoting films at shopping malls. (Laughs out loud)
S: Promoting films. I just want people to watch it. I don’t like these tacky promotions.
H: I think what she’s trying to say is that sitting down and talking to somebody like this is great. But I think it will get to a point where the marketing teams will just put out the trailer and ask us to talk to people, and then people will go to see the film. I think there’s a lot of unnecessary things that people do today which aren’t required.
S: I will accept it with gratitude. Compliments are compliments, yaar!
H: I will realise that I have a homosexual fan following which is amazing and is great!
Both of them: Never say never!
H: That I am rude to journalists, that I’m dating lots of people I’m not.
S: I haven’t heard any! (suddenly remembers) Oh yeah, there’s one. People claim that I’m dating this politican.
H: (Cuts in) who’s actually a childhood friend of hers...
S: I threw my hairdresser into a lake!
H: I haven’t really played any pranks.
S: He’s a good boy. (Smiles)
S: Generally, I am the one playing it. So nobody dares to play a prank on me.
H: Nothing!
S: I wasn’t a very filmi kid, to be honest. I was brought up in Nagpur, away from showbiz. Not many knew who I was and who my aunts were. So there was one scumbag who had tried to proposition me over the phone. He didn’t know about my lineage and thought I would fall for his trap. I don’t know if that’s what you call the casting couch, but the reality is that many people do misuse their power in a lot of ways.
H: You’re asking me about casting couch? No, I haven’t been on one yet. (Smiles)
H: The want to take risks with every film.
S: My love for the old world.
H: I’m addicted to playing poker.
S: Chocolate maybe! That’s the only vice I have!
S: I am in love with Gulzar saab.
H: I’ve already told you something which I haven’t told anyone. (Check out our next story on Harsh)
S: Being committed to who I love.
H: For me, it would be staying single.
H: For me, it’s taking a girl to dinner and talking and having a glass of wine.
S: Going for a trek together!
H: That is so romantic, ya.
