Kingly tastes
Lazing on a Sunday afternoon is a must for me. But nothing could come in my way of being determined to visit the newly opened Sahara Star.
It was truly an unmatched experience at Namak- The Indian specialty restaurant serving authentic Awadhi and Hyderabadi delicacies.
The ambience instantly transforms you to another place, your palate now ready to savour kingly tastes in food and so it was!Starting with the refreshing light mint and fresh orange juice and it went on……
Chholiyan shikampoor, delicately flavoured grilled chic pea kebabs for starters. I had never had a layered fennel paneer. Lip-smacking!
The stuffed mushrooms delicately touched with cheese counted low in calorie.Ajwain tender chicken tandori chops so succulent!Impeccably cooked chicken in saffron and yoghurt.
Main course - kheema paneer ke dhulme- grated paneer wrapped in spinach and steamed. The sua dhakini sag was tempered delicately with ginger and garlic.Opt for the unusual whole wheat khumam roti so that you can toss out white flour breads.
Food here is prepared in ghee- believed since Vedic times to have amazing healing properties. The dum ke bater farm raised quails cooked in saffron, almond and yoghurt.
Chicken roasted in green ambada leaves is a lighter choice than thick creamy gravies. Aromatic saffron vegetable biryani was tantalising our taste buds. Traditional Indian herbs and spices have medicinal properties, all combined scientifically healing and enriching you.
The recommended style of this place of eating with fingers (knife and fork are not given but provided only on request) beckons our tradition of age old days when food was savoured with fingers giving the health benefits of digestion.
Eating with fingers awaken the pranas, chakras and kundaliin the brain gastro nominal region energising assimilating, absorbing digesting more deeply, giving complete satisfaction.
