Vidya Balan’s outfits in Ghanchakkar will be auctioned after the release of her film and the proceeds wil go towards spreading literacy. Says a source, “Vidya, who is known to reinvent herself in every film, is playing a loud-mouthed Punjabi housewife with OTT fashion sense. Her look, designed by Subarna Ray Chaudhuri, is apparently inspired by Dolly Bindra!  Now that the film is complete, writer-director Rajkumar Gupta is planning to have an auction of her costumes she has worn in Ghanchakkar.

The clothes worn by the actress will be put out for display/exhibition prior to the auction.
The venue of the auction could be Delhi or Mumbai — or even  online. Rajkumar and UTV are still to decide on the best way to go about this.  They haven’t even zeroed in on the charity yet.  Except that they want to support an NGO working towards spreading literacy in India.”

Gupta says, “We have a big promotional campaign around Vidya Balan’s look in the film. Her look is something to watch out for and we are looking to innovate during the promotions of the film.”
