Seven years ago the second installment of Munnabhai , Lage Raho Munnabhai (2006), released. Since then, there has been talk about the third installment. In fact a trailer of Munnabhai Chale Amerika was shot back then but was never made.

Munnabhai Chale Dilli (tentative title) will now go on the floors but will not be directed by Rajkumar Hirani but by Jolly LLB director Subhash Kapoor. Says a source, “Hirani is currently busy with PK and so he could not take on any project for now. He will be actively involved in the scripting of the film with Abhijat Joshi and Vinod Chopra.

The trio believe that Subhash’s sensibility is suited to taking the Munnabhai franchisee forward. Sanjay Dutt play Munnabhai, while Arshad will be his sidekick Circuit.
