Dil Ki Nazar SeKhoobsoorat
Channel: Sony, Monday – Friday, 7.30 pm

What is it about
: The fairytale of the princess and the frog prince is the basis of this story.

Visuals: Set in a modest school of primary children, it was a kiddie episode sans any frills. Intially, you had to double check to see if you are watching the said serial because none of the characters shown in the promos were present! No grand visuals because it was shot completely in  a school but it was realistic and relatable.

Characters
: All kids ranging from standard 1 to 3 who act in a play called the princess and the frog prince. The pretty little princess Aradhya wants her prince to be cute and fair. The teacher zeroes in on one cute boy Rahul to play the prince but he is reluctant to act.

His friend Madhav wants to play the prince but because of his wheatish complexion and ungainly spots on his face is relegated to playing the horse. On the day of the play, Rahul absconds and Madhav ends up playing the prince but when the princess sees him, she is scared and runs away from the stage.

The parents and the audiences have a hearty laugh but Madhav is heartbroken. Little Rahul tries to take revenge by splashing mud on Aradhya’s dress but Madhav forces Rahul to apologise and does so himself with a drawing signed as Rahul. Aradhya pins it up on a board. Cut to 15 years later, Aradhya is grown up that sees the entry of Soumya Seth.

Acting
: Since the first episode only had kids who we will probably not see later, all one can is they were all really cute. The boy who played Rahul fitted his part, even Madhav conveyed his grief effectively.

Way forward: The basic premise has been established and we know Aradhya wants her dream man to be fair and handsome without a single blemish. Though we know the premise, it will be interesting to see how the makers have developed the story.
