Singer Harshdeep Kaur in Gurbani

Known for her soulful voice, Harshdeep Kaur has been roped in for a very unconventional role for Gurbani to be aired on Colors.  A reality show star, Harshdeep has sung some hit Bollywood numbers including Jugni, Katiyan Karoon from Rockstar and the famous Ik Onkaar from Rang De Basanti. Interesingly, Harshdeep’s appearance in the show will be just like the way composer Pritam and his band of signers appeared in the film Life.. In A Metro, Atif Aslam in Prince etc. This will probably be the first time on TV that a singer will appear in the middle of the narrative and take the story forward. Confirming this , Harshdeep said, “ My talent was noticed in a TV show and I am delighted to be a part of a fiction show for the very first time. It is not just a song, but a story of a girl that I am narrating in verses throughout the show. The song and the verses give me goose bumps whenever I hear it.” The serial is in Punjab and is about brides being deserted by NRIs.
