Maintaining a fit body is imperative for Anita and she believes the best way to do that is by eating and exercising right. “I am a total foodie and have the biggest sweet tooth, but I don’t believe in crash diets. I ensure I have 5-6 small meals during the day to keep my hunger pangs low. I also allow myself to cheat one day every week, wherein I consume at least 300 calories more than what’s needed,” she says.
Fitness is important for her as she says, “Follow a good training regime, stick to a healthy meal with enough vitamins and minerals, and clock enough rest and sleep. It’s also important to indulge in a break in-between work, by just being completely free of all thoughts for 10 minutes.”
As for her workout regime, Anita keeps changing it. “I love skipping, running, walking, weight training, dancing, or anything that gives my heart rate a boost. I like to keep shocking my body by doing something new every week. The intention is to keep your body guessing. I even took up belly dancing to get those curves,” she laughs. Deep breathing is also something she feels can do wonders for your body. Every morning, the actress practises different breathing techniques like Sama Vritti, Abdominal breathing, Nadi Shodana, Kapalabhati, progressive relaxation, and guided visualisation.
Finally, she stresses on the importance of keeping stress at bay. “Keep the stress to the bare minimum, spend time with family and loved ones, listen to music, go dancing, sweat it out at the gym, work diligently and earnestly. In short, enjoy every day of your life. The way you treat your day, defines your mind, body and emotions,” she ends.
