Abhishek Kapoor’s upcoming film Kai Po Che! based on Chetan Bhagat’s novel The 3 Mistakes of My Life has been creating quite a fervour among youth. The team has planned to auction the clothes worn by the lead actors and donate the money to non-profit organisations. Talking about the initiative Abhishek says, “The three friends in Kai Po Che! set up their own business of selling sports goods. Sushant Singh Rajput’s character Ishaan in the film is that of a benevolent person who helps financially troubled cricketers to realise their dreams by coaching them for free. In that context, we have planned to auction their clothes and raise money to help NGOs working towards helping budding sportsmen who do not have access to sports equiptments or training facilities.”
Kai Po Che! is Abhishek’s second film after Rock On!! and is an inspiring story set in contemporary India. The film revolves around the journey of three friends, portrayed by Sushant, Raj Kumar Yadav and Amit Sadh, and is set against the backdrop of religious politics in the state of Gujarat. The movie is based on three friends in the city of Ahmedabad. While Govind dreams of starting a business, he plans to accommodate his friends Ishaan (the central character) and Omi’s passion-cricket to open a cricket goods and training shop. The auction aims to promote and help youngsters who are passionate about cricket, and provide them with funds. The film is lined to have an international premiere at The Berlin International Film Festival.
