Smita Singh’s friendship with producer Ila Bedi had ended on a bitter note, after the actress went public with her protest against the Hitler Didi producer’s late clearance of her dues. Smita had even threatened Bedi about enlisting the support of the actors’ union and taking action against her if the payment wasn’t immediately made. Back then, Ila had expressed deep resentment over the public humiliation, which had led to the actor’s ouster from the show. However, all that seems to be a thing of the past. According to sources, the two have not only made peace with each other, but Bedi has even taken Smita back on the same show.
When the actor was asked to leave the show, the track of Hitler Didi had shown her character ‘Sunaina Bhabhi’ running away from the Sharma household with her husband Munna’s lottery money. Sources say that now, Smita will be seen returning in an all-new avatar of ‘Guru Ma’ — a widely-followed spiritual leader.
"She will be seen taking her procession through the streets where the Sharma family members will spot her, but will be unable to recognise her, while wondering why she looks familiar," reveals an insider. Talking about her return, Smita says, "I am glad that I’m back. It’s unfortunate that I had left the show. But I prefer to let bygones be bygones. I’d rather not get into what had gone wrong, what’s important is that Ila and I have a cordial working relationship again."
