A celebrity fashion fundraiser in the city aims to encourage women to speak up against violence.

Bringing the issue of rape in our country to the forefront, jewellery designer Varuna D Jani, fashion designer Neeta Lulla and producer Anu Ranjan have joined hands with NGO Beti to create a night dedicated to creating support for rape victims. No More Fear — which will be held tonight at  a five-star hotel in Juhu — will see a number of personalities from various walks of life take to the ramp for a cause.

While Neeta’s outfits will add a glam quotient to the evening, Varuna will also showcase her specially crafted jewellery, with each colour of the gemstones denoting a woman’s personality. “We wanted to display through a fashion show and dance format what a woman goes through when she’s abused and mistreated. We took up the cause of rape, as it’s the call of the hour. Being a mother of three daughters myself, I’m doing this for the safety of all the daughters of our country,” adds the jewellery designer.

The evening will see a mix of celebrities, like Sushmita Sen who’s also the showstopper. Also present at the event will be Sonu Nigam, Alka Yagnik, RoopKumar Rathod, and Sunidhi Chauhan.
