Emraan Hashmi who will be seen playing a magician in his upcoming film Ek Thi Daayan got a real dose of magic while shooting for the film. The actor recently shot for the film at Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon over five days. And while there, Emraan even trained with well-known magician Atul, to look convincing for his role on camera.
A source reveals that the cast and crew of the Kannan Iyer directed film were very excited about shooting there, as it was for the first time that a film was being shot in Kingdom of Dreams. And the experience of shooting with a crowd of more than 1,000 people in the audience was even more thrilling for Emraan.
“But what had Emraan absolutely excited was getting a chance to learn about illusions and magic tricks from Atul. Emraan thought that getting some tips from him would help him add a touch of authenticity to his character. So, what started off as taking a few tips, soon had them bonding and Atul shared many trade secrets with Emraan,” shares a source from the production unit.
A source close to Emraan says that right from day one, the film has been an altogether different experience for the actor. “While Emraan has acted in several horror films, he admits that working on this supernatural thriller has been a real eye-opener,” adds the source. The film seems to be raising the curiosity bar with the audience too, as since the release of the online trailer two days back, it has already garnered eight lakh plus hits.
Meanwhile, the actor is said to be happy with his mixed bag of films this year. From this thriller Ek Thi Daayan to doing a comedy with Ghanchakkar, to a Karan Johar film, all are absolutely different genres and Emraan’s looking forward to all of them. “Besides this he also has an international film with Oscar-winner Danis Tanovic which he will begin soon,” adds the source.
