The show Bigg Boss hasn’t exactly been parivarik, though that’s what you have been saying since it began...
We wanted it to be that way and to a certain extent it has been like that. But yes, sometimes contestants have gone overboard. However, in real life also people abuse each other but no one takes notice. If someone wants to make a big deal out of it like Imam (Siddiqui), he will do it. Also, you have to understand that if there are no fights, it will not be Bigg Boss. You cannot put a limit on anything. Some people consider this entertainment. Yes, women audiences pull back but the younger generation loves it. It’s a difficult format for the host and contestants. The channel wants it be more expressive and they may be right about it for the ratings but I have a slightly different view. There has to be a fun element but the amount they expect is something I am not comfortable with.

Will you be hosting the next season?
Let’s see. They haven’t asked me yet.

Your latest outing Dabangg 2 has also made over Rs 100 crores... Is a third one in the offing?
In another 10 days, Dabangg 2 will cross Rs 150 crores. And yes, there will be a third instalment but after sometime. Right now, I have Kick, Sher Khan and the sequel to No Entry to complete.

Since Wanted you have been doing action and masala entertainers. In fact, many others too are cashing in on the genre...
There are lots of different films too. Action is a dicey genre. You might make a film with larger-than-life action and naach-gaana but unless it is made with utter sincerity, it will not work. The story has to be wonderful and the dialogues have to be good. It depends on the writing skills. It’s not like yeh chalta hai toh thok thak ke picture bana di.

Recently, there have been reports that people like Arjun Rampal, who’ve fallen out with Shah Rukh Khan, are becoming close to you.
There’s no groupism. Who said Arjun Rampal is getting closer to me? I just met him and spoke to him for two minutes at Sunny Dewan’s party. I don’t follow people’s lives. Whoever speaks to me, I speak to them nicely, I don’t care woh uska dost hai. I am not even aware there’s a fight between them.

Recently, you spoke in favour of Shah Rukh Khan on your show, which came as a surprise...
(Cuts in) I don’t like people using the platform to bitch about others. It’s not their business at all. I wanted to kick Imam’s butt for saying he made Shah Rukh. I told him joh SRK ne haasil kiya tum karke dikahao. He is doing Yash Chopra films and all, you can’t drag SRK’s name. I will not tolerate that. What is not true is not true.
