Actor Prachi Desai is currently riding high on the success of her latest film Bol Bachchan, which recently entered the 100 crore club. Thanks to the film’s success overseas as well, Prachi has collected quite a fan following in the international circuit. Latest is that the actor has been invited to lead the Independence Day parade in the US.
A source close to her reveals, “Yes, Prachi has been invited to be a part of the Indian Independence Day parade at Eddison, New Jersey, USA. Keeping her recent hit and success in mind, the Indian Business Association with other Indo-American Organisations — which organise the Independence Day parade — has invited Prachi. Not only that, they also want Prachi to be the martial and the flag bearer at this prestigious parade.”
“Every year the parade is attended by thousands of Indians staying in US, celebrating our Independence Day. It is a mile long parade, and since this year Prachi will be the key martial, she will be leading the parade. It’s a huge honour for her. She is delighted that they chose her this for this year’s parade. She personally wants to thank the organisers and especially her fans abroad.
She simply can’t wait to be a part of the parade. Prachi will be leaving soon for the same,” the source further adds.
Previously the parade has seen a host of Bolly celebs including Preity Zinta, Mallika Sherawat, Bipasha Basu, Rani Mukherji and Shilpa Shetty. Prachi is currently busy with her film I, Me Aur Main opposite actors John Abraham and Chitrangda Singh. The source also adds, “She is taking it slow now, by doing one film at a time. But she is only choosing the best of the lot.”
