Actor Anil Kapoor has just returned home from more than a month-long schedule in Turkey, where he’d been shooting for Race 2. And though the actor reveals that he’s maha-excited about plunging into impending work here, more so, start rolling the Indian adaptation of international TV show 24, for now Anil reveals is on a mini-break of sorts. “I won’t be working at all for the next 10-12 days, at least I will try not to,” says Anil.

“Right now I’m just excited about being home, because after that I will once again be on a non-stop working spree,” he smiles. Having just wrapped up the schedule of Race 2, the actor will begin shooting for Shootout at Wadala from the 16th of this month and then begin work on the Hindi version of the TV show 24.

Looking forward to the show that will be directed by Abhinay Deo of Delhi Belly fame, the actor says that they hope to start rolling it  in November. “We are looking to start shooting by the year-end and the show is expected to go on air only next year,” says Anil, who will be seen playing the role of the protagonist Counter Terrorist Unit  Jack Bauer that was originally played by actor Kiefer Sutherland. “We are completely adapting it to suit the Indian audiences, and we do hope to up the bar of TV production with this one. A show like this one needs that grandeur and styling and I can’t wait to begin it,” adds the actor.

While away, Anil also happened to miss actor daughter Sonam’s birthday. “Yes, but now I am here and she is busy, so a belated party may not be happening. And we don’t need a reason to celebrate. All of us just being together is celebration enough,” says the doting dad. An all-out family man himself, we ask him about his Hollywood pal Tom Cruise, who recently turned 50 and is dealing with an impending divorce with wife actor Katie Holmes.

“It’s a very personal thing, so I’d rather not talk about it at all. But all I can really say is that Tom’s a real nice guy, so I hope it all gets sorted out for him. This must not be easy for him at all and I just wish the best for him and his family,” says the actor, adding that the couple should be allowed the kind of privacy they need at the moment.
