It’s not just the fat figures at the Box Office, that’s getting Bollywood excited. The upcoming weddings creating a buzz in the industry circles, have also got them upbeat. While actors Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s W- date is said to be October 16, there’s a strong buzz that actor John Abraham might just get hitched before this year end to his banker girlfriend Priya Runchal as well. John and Priya’s parents have apparently met and speculations are rife that the two are already engaged. “Marriage will happen when it has to. It’s a rather personal matter and I would not want to discuss more about that yet,” John had earlier said. And if insiders are to be believed then John is keen to keep the wedding a small and private affair and follow it up with a get together with his close friends from the industry and outside. “I would like it to be a private affair,” he added, but refused to say his dream destination. “Could be here, may be not,” said John.
These two marriages apart, the two weddings that B-Town’s been waiting to hear about include actor Soha Ali Khan’s wedding to boyfriend actor Kunal Khemu, as well as that of actor Vidya Balan with beau Siddharth Roy Kapur. Sources close to the curvy hottie however reveal that it may be a long wait as marriage is not on the actor’s mind at present. “There’ve been speculations about Vidya’s marriage for a long time, but as far as we are aware, marriage is not yet on the cards for her,” says a source close to Vidya. “In fact, Vidya’s date diary is choc-a-bloc with only work,” adds the source. Similarly, Soha too is said to have said that marriage is not on her mind.
Meanwhile, there’re talks of Kareena-Saif wedding being a rather private affair that will involve week-long celebrations in Pataudi culminating to the final day. This will be followed by a reception, where several Bollywood friends are invited. But this reception will most likely happen in Mumbai where most of their friends are based. According to an insider, the actor, who’s in London with Saif and his family to attend a lunch being hosted in honour of Saif’s late father cricketer Mansur Pataudi, may be extending the trip to do some trousseau shopping as well. “She loves shopping there, she has a huge list of her favourites while there,” says a source.
While the Saif-Bebo wedding’s the only one confirmed with dates so far, B-Towners can’t help but wait excitedly for the others to take place sometime soon as well. Even though how soon, only time will tell. But till then it’s wedding season and the mood’s celebratory!
