Tamil film actress Trisha Krishnan, has joined hands with People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) in issuing a public appeal to domesticate stray dogs and not crave for pedigreed foreign breeds.
At a formal event hosted here on Thursday Krishnan said there is a misconception that stray dogs are of no use.
She said that the stray dogs can be very well bread if taken into good homes.
Beaming a smile, she posed with a dog mascot with a heart shaped placard reading, "Love Indian dogs, Adopt don't buy".
On the occasion, Ambika Shukla, director of communications, PETA mentioned that the Indian dogs are bright, brave and beautiful and all that they need is love and respect.
