West Bengal Education department announces Teacher Eligibility Test for 30,000 vacant positions

The education department of West Bengal has issued a notification seeking application for the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) examination that will fill up 30,000 vacancies across the state.

As per a Times of India report, West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee on Friday had asked the primary education department to issue notification incorporating two criterion once the department opens on October 9.  

The eligible candidates can apply online through wbbpe.org and wbsed.gov.in till October 29.

Recently the government announced that candidates applying for TET need to have two years of teachers' training and 50% marks in Higher Secondary examination. Even students seeking jobs on compensatory grounds need to

fulfil the criterion. Though the date of the examination is yet not fixed but it is likely to be conducted in December this year, an official of the department said.
