NDA and NA examination 2018: UPSC releases notification, apply at upsconline.nic.in

The UPSC on Monday released the official notification for National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) examination (I) 2018.

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) on Monday released the official notification for National Defence Academy (NDA) and Naval Academy (NA) examination (I) 2018. The last date for submission of application is February 5 and the exams will be held on April 22, 2018. 

The examination is being conducted for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 141th Course, and for the 103rd Indian Naval Academy Course commencing from January 2, 2019.

Selected candidates will get admission into National Defence Academy and Indian Naval Academy. 

Number of vacancies:

Total: 415 

National Defence Academy: 360 

Army: 208
Navy: 60
Air Force:  92

Naval Academy (10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme): 55

Eligibility criteria:

Nationality: 

A candidate must either be a citizen of India or a subject of Bhutan or Nepal. Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India can also apply. 

A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India can also apply. 

Educational qualification:

For Army wing at NDA: 

The candidate must be 12th Class pass (or appearing) of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

For Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA: 

The candidate must be 12th Class pass (or appearing) of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

The selection will be based on the performance in the written examination (syllabus here) followed by intelligence and personality test by the Services Selection Board (SSB).

Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in. Detailed instructions for filling up the online application form are available on the website. 

Last date: 

The applications can be filled up to February 5, 2018 till 6.00 pm.
