ICSE Class 10 result 2021 assessment criteria: Latest update students must know

CISCE had last month announced the cancellation of the ICSE board exam due to the worsening situation of COVID-19 in India.

In wake of the coronavirus pandemic, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) had last month cancelled the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE class 10) exam. ICSE Result 2021 will be based on the marks obtained in class 9 and class 10 by the students. The board is expected to announce the evaluation scheme soon for the class 10 result.

As per the media reports, CISCE has asked the schools to provide two types of marks – average marks of class 9 and the average marks of class 10. After that, CISCE will announce the assessment criteria for ICSE Result 2021. 

“CISCE is committed to devising ‘a fair and an unbiased criterion’. The criterion on which basis the result will be declared for ICSE class 10 and the date of result declaration will be announced by the CISCE later,” CISCE statement said. 

Whereas, CBSE Class 10 students will be evaluated on the basis of the scores obtained in the exams during the academic year. The assessment will be done out of 100 marks for each subject, the internal assessment will be of 20 marks (which have been awarded by the schools already). Periodic tests/ unit test will be of 10 marks, Half-yearly/ midterm exam will be 30 and pre-board exam will be 40.

CISCE on April 20 announced the cancellation of the ICSE board exam due to the worsening situation of COVID-19 in India. “The safety and well-being of the students and teachers is our topmost priority and of paramount interest” the official notification read.
