GATE 2020 Application: Form correction window to open on October 15 @appsgate.iitd.ac.in

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2020 candidates who want to edit their GATE 2020 applications can do so from October 15 after the correction window is opened on the official website - gate.iitd.ac.in, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi has stated in a notification.

All the candidates who want to edit their GATE 2020 applications can now edit the earlier entries made on the application forms and correct errors that were made earlier. For this, the correction window in the official portal will be activated. Candidates can make changes to entries like - Candidate's Name, Father's Name, College's Name, etc.

To make the changes, the GATE 2020 candidate will have to first log-in to GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) on the official website through this link. They will do so with the help of their assigned username and passwords. After that, the candidate can make their necessary changes.

Earlier, it was said that additional fees or charges might be levied on attempts to further edit the GATE 2020 exam applications, but it has not yet been confirmed if the correction window on the official portal from October 15 will charge an additional fee.

The GATE 2020 admit cards will be issued on January 3.

 

About GATE exam:

According to the official website, the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an examination conducted jointly by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore and the seven Indian Institutes of Technology (at Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and Roorkee) on behalf of the National Coordination Board (NCB)-GATE, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.

Qualifying in GATE is a mandatory requirement for seeking admission and/or financial assistance to (i) Master’s programs and direct Doctoral programs in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and (ii) Doctoral programs in relevant branches of Science, in the institutions supported by the MHRD and other Government agencies. Even in some colleges and institutions, which admit students without MHRD scholarship/assistantship, the GATE qualification is mandatory. Further, many Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have been using the GATE score in their recruitment process.
