GATE 2019: The application process for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2019 began on September 1 and September 21 is the last date to apply for the exam. The candidates can apply for the exam after September 21 but they will have to pay a fine for late appliance. Candidate can fill the application forms online using the GOAPS (GATE Online Application Proceszsing System). The candidates that want to apply for GATE 2019 will have to visit the official website appsgate.iitm.ac.in. The dates of the important events have been released on the official website gate.iitm.ac.in

Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering is an examination designed to test the comprehensive ability of the candidate in various undergarduate subjects like in Engineering/Technology/Architecture and post-graduate level subjects in Science. GATE 2019 will be conducted for 24 subjects distributed over 2nd, 3rd, 9th & 10th of February 2019. The GATE 2019 will be conducted in various centres across India, as well as, in six cities outside India. The examination is purely a Computer Based Test (CBT).

The GATE score will reflect the realtive performance of the candidate in a particular subject, which is quantified based on the several years of examination data. NOTE that GATE 2019 score is valid for a period of three years from the date of announcement. 


ABOUT GATE 2019:

• IIT Madras is the organizing institute for GATE 2019.

• Information website for GATE 2019 is http://gate.iitm.ac.in

• GATE 2019 will be conducted on 24 subjects (also referred to as “papers”).

• Examination for all the 24 subjects (papers) will be conducted as ONLINE Computer Based Test (CBT).

• The online examination paper will contain some questions for which numerical answers must be keyed in by the candidate using a virtual keypad. Rest of the questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type. The Candidates will use ONLY an on-screen virtual calculator provided for the examination.

• A candidate can appear only in ANY ONE paper of the GATE examination.

• GATE 2019 examinations will be held during the forenoon and afternoon sessions on 2nd, 3rd, 9th & 10th of February 2019.

• Examination for some of the papers in GATE 2019 may be held in multiple sessions.

However, a candidate can appear for the examination in one session ONLY.

• Exact details of the complete examination schedule will be notified later on the GATE 2019
website.

• Candidates have to register and fill the application via ONLINE mode ONLY at GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). The link will be made available on GATE 2019 website http://gate.iitm.ac.in ).

• The entire process of filling up of the application form and uploading of certificates/documents, etc. is in online mode only. The candidates should not send any hard copy of his/her application form/documents etc. to IIT Madras or any of the zonal GATE offices.
