In a first, CEPT University will be offering short courses to school students during summer vacation. As part of a High School programme, initiated by the university, short courses of 4-5 days with limited seats will be offered to students of Class 9-12. The courses will tap on the creative side of the students.

Speaking about the same, Aanal Shah, Head of Summer-Winter school at CEPT university said, "We have been running the summer-winter school since past five years and it is aimed at college students and professionals to some extent. However, we were getting many requests from parents of school students to start few courses specifically for school students. Also, many schools visit our campus with students and students enjoy spending time on our campus. This was the main reason we have introduced very short courses so that while they can spend some time on campus, they are also exposed to arts and hands on workshops orienting around arts.

In that age, children are quite confused with what they want to do. Through our courses, they will also be able to express themselves." Some of the courses include calligraphy, basics of SLR photography, digital post-processing, paper mache products, advanced sketching skills, ceramics, etc.

Considering creativity starts from any age and the learning opportunities should not just be limited to college students and professionals we have are now offering courses for high school students as well to participate in the courses that are specially designed for them. The intention is to provide learning opportunities to students by providing them with an interactive learning environment by inviting students from different schools and provide them with a platform to explore their creative side and help them express themselves in a better way, she said.

To participate, the school students will have to submit a bonafide certificate from their school and in absence fo the same, a copy of Aadhaar card or last years mark sheet can be submitted.
