CBSE board examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 started from 5th March. The first paper for class 12 students was that of English, which, out of obvious reasons, is a favourite subject of many.

According to the reports almost all the students seemed quite contended and happy with their first English exam. Hardly any student found the exam difficult or anything out of syllabus.

Here is a section wise analysis of today’s Class 12 board exam:

Reading Section: The reading section seemed simple and easy. Students had to attempt MCQ’s and note making questions, which were factual and easy to strive. The MCQ’s required re-reading of the passage to answer the most suitable alternative. However, students were able to complete their exam with al least 15 minutes to spare.

Report Writing: Writing Section mainly had direct and simple questions. But the report writing section was tricky and challenging for the students.

Literature Section: Questions from the literature section were quite predictable, according to the students. School based assessments were of great help as they had practised the attempted questions again and again. There was a slight change in the usual pattern. Both the questions based on novel were on character sketch whereas, one was supposed to be based on plot or theme of the novel.

The teachers are of the view that this year’s question paper was a balance one with due weightage given to comprehension, application, evaluation and inference.

Over 28 lakhs candidates have registered for the class 10 and class 12 examinations. The Class 10 examinations are being conducted at 4,453 centres across India and 78 centres abroad. The Class 12 examinations are being held at 4,138 centres in India and 71 centres abroad.

CBSE class 10 board examinations will conclude on 12th April, 2018 and class 12 examinations will conclude on 4th of April. Students can find the entire datesheet of the exams at the official website cbse.nic.in
