UPSC notifies vacancies for Assistant Professor, salary up to Rs 2.08 lakh under 7th Pay Commission

The job is permanent in nature and the selected candidate will be eligible for pay and perks under the 7th Pay Commission or 7th CPC.

7th Pay Commission latest news: People looking for a government job can rejoice as the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has a vacancy for an Assistant professor. The Commission has issued a job notification regarding the opening for Specialist Grade III Assistant Professor (Dermatology, Venereology & Leprosy).

The job is permanent in nature and the selected candidate will be eligible for pay and perks under the 7th Pay Commission or 7th CPC. 

A total of six vacancies for the post have been notified. Out of these, three seats are reserved for the Unreserved Category (UR) applicants, two seats for Other Backward Caste (OBC) applicants and one for the Schedule Case (SC) applicant.

For the General or UR category, the applicant's age cannot exceed 40 years while for the OBC, three-year relaxation is given making the age limit 43. For the SC category applicant, the maximum age limit has been kept at 45 years.

The pay scale offered in this seventh pay commission job is Rs 67,700 to 2,08,700 plus other allowance. This means that a selected candidate can expect a monthly salary up to Rs 2.08 lakh along with other central government employee perks like Dearness Allowance (DA), Travel Allowance (TA), Housing Rent Allowance (HRA) etc.

The UPSC notification also mentions that chosen candidates will be given Group 'A' Central Health Services Teaching Specialist Sub-cadre.
