The Class XII exam results will be declared on the official result websites. This year the CBSE Class 12 exam was held between March 9 to April 29 this year. Results in all 10 regions will be announced simultaneously. A total of 10lakh candidates form 10,678 schools registered for CBSE class XII exams this year.
How to check CBSE Class 12th Results 2017
1. Log on to either of the official websites: cbse.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in
2. Click on the tab highlighted “Senior School Certificate Examinations (Class 12) Results 2017 (All Regions)”
3. Keep information like roll number handy to access CBSE 12th Result
4. Take a printout of the result for future reference.
In a major relief to students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will not move the SC to challenge the Delhi High Court instructions stating that evaluation for the class 10 and 12 board exams this year should be done as per the grace marks policy.
Aiming to check high cut-offs in colleges, the CBSE had scrapped the moderation policy under which grace marks are given to the students in exams for difficult questions.
Union Human Resource and Development (HRD) Minister Prakash Javadekar, who presided over the meeting, said that proper marks should be given based on credit and added that schools should not work on giving the highest marks but the correct marks.
"It was decided that proper marks should be given on credit and schools should not work on giving highest marks but the right marks. Grace marks is a suggestion. It is a good consensus let us see how it works. Marks should be exact and fair marks should not be raised because there is competition," he said.
In a reply to plea filed by parents and some students, the Delhi High Court earlier instructed the board to follow its 'moderation policy'.
Under the moderation policy, students are awarded up to 15 percent extra marks in certain papers if the questions are deemed to be difficult.
The Delhi HC on Tuesday asked CBSE not to scrap its marks-moderation policy from this year as the policy was put in place after the exams were over. The court said: “Rules cannot be changed after the game has begun”. A final decision on the next step by CBSE is likely to be announced by Friday only. However, in the middle of all this, the HRD minister Prakash Javadekar has assured students that results will be declared on time.
Details about Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)
The Central Board of Secondary Education was reconstituted in the year 1962 with the main objectives "to serve the educational institutions more effectively, to be responsive to the educational needs of those students whose parents were employed in the central government and had frequently transferable jobs."
As a result of the reconstitution, the erstwhile 'Delhi Board of Secondary Education' was merged with the Central Board and thus all the educational institutions recognized by the Delhi Board also became a part of the Central Board. Subsequently, all the schools located in the Union Territory of Chandigarh. Andaman and Nicobar Island, Arunachal Pradesh, the state of Sikkim , and now Jharkhand, Uttaranchal and Chhattisgarh have also got affiliation with the Board.
