Many yoga experts from different health institutions expressed their views about how yoga can help defeat several life-threatening and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as hypertension, stroke, heart attack and diabetes and enhances bone strength, spine and functional health.

The faculty, students, nursing officers and other staff of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, led by Dr Randeep Guleria, the director of AIIMS, marked the celebration of 4th International Day of Yoga through a week-long series of events that culminated in the grand finale of a mass yoga practice in which more than 600 enthusiastic.

Dr Rajesh Kumar, Psychiatrist, Centre For Child And Parent Mental Wellbeing said that Yoga can help prevent depression and promote mental health. It not only de-stresses you but it gives a boost to your life. Regular practice of yoga can help the patients with insomnia, depression, and anxiety.

Yoga helps in the all-round development of the body and mind. It is the need for people of all ages to make physical activity an integral part of life and reach the level that is needed to promote good health.
