Woman shot in face in Bawana area of Rohini district

A 34-year- old woman was once again shot at in her face by unidentified miscreants in Bawana area of Rohini district on Monday evening. The woman was shot at along with male friend around a fortnight ago which left her injured while her male friend died. Police suspect honour killing as one of the angles as some relatives of the couple were against their inter-caste relationship.

On October 6, the woman was shot in her hip but had survived after a surgery. On Monday, she was shot in her face, leaving her battling for life.

"The first attack took place when the couple was travelling on a scooter in Bawana. The man died during treatment while the woman survived after treatment," said a senior police officer.

She was recently discharged from the hospital.

" On Monday, she was again shot near her home by unidentified people. The bullet pierced her cheek. She hasn't been hit in any vital organ, but it is too early to tell about her condition," said the officer.
Police said that a man named Harish was arrested for the first attack and that attack was over personal enmity while they are probing the second attack.

" We suspect it to be a case of honour killing as some relatives were against their relationship. While several teams have been formed to investigate the case," said a senior police officer.
The couple lived in Panna Mojan village in Rohini district's Bawana.
