A woman was allegedly gang-raped by three men on Monday night in New Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). She was allegedly picked up from MG Road in Gurgaon, dragged, gang-raped for over eight hours, and driven through several parts of Delhi and its suburbs before being thrown out on the road in Greater Noida's Kasna area.

The woman, in her late thirties, lodged an FIR with Noida Police on Tuesday, police officers said.

According to the woman, she was picked up at around 8 pm when she was walking near Gurgaon's MG Road metro station by three men in a Maruti Swift car. She was on her way home.

The men allegedly assaulted, kidnapped and later gang-raped her.

She was found on the road by a passerby and was taken to a local hospital by the police.

"The matter came to our notice when the control room received a call at around 4 am on Tuesday about an unattended woman lying near a restaurant close to the Kasna Police Station. She has been admitted to Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida and an FIR has been registered," said Love Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar.

He added that some bottles of beer were also found at the spot where she was thrown from the car.

According to the woman, she is a resident of Bharatpur in Rajasthan and had arrived in Gurgaon 10 days ago to stay with a friend in Sohna. Police said they were verifying the claims.

Gurgaon Police Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sumit Kuhar, and DCP (East) Deepak Saharan were present at the Sector 29 Police Station as the woman recorded her statement in the presence of a woman lawyer, as per the legal norms.

"We are not registering the case in Sector 29 Police Station as the case does not fall in our jurisdiction. We have transferred the case over to the Noida Police," Sector 29 Police Station in-charge, Vikas Kaushik told DNA.
