A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of the Delhi Metro train at the Kashmere Gate station on Wednesday.

A woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of the Delhi Metro train at the Kashmere Gate station on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old victim has been identified as Pooja. She was accompanied by a friend to board the train. Instead, she jumped in front of the train, which was going towards Dilshad Garden. No suicide note recovered from the victim. 'Body has been moved to Subzi Mandi mortuary for post-mortem,'' DCP Metro Pankaj Singh said.
Pooja used to work as computer operator at a private firm in Kashmere Gate area.
The services on the Red Line were briefly stopped leaving several passengers stranded.
Many took to Twitter to talk about the delay. The incident that took place around 7:30 pm affected the evening peak hour rush.

The Delhi Metro, which is a lifeline for the Delhi National Capital Region (NCR), is used by around 28 lakh passengers every day.
