The dismembered body of a woman was found in a carton and a bag in South East Delhi's Sarita Vihar on Thursday morning.

The crime came to light after the police control room received a call at 8.12 am on Thursday about a bag and a carton dumped by the roadside on a vacant plot towards Haji colony in Jamia.
"After the residents called the police and informed about foul smell emanating from the two unknown boxes, a police team rushed to the spot. They found that there was a chopped body inside the carton and bag," said Chinmoy Biswal, deputy commissioner of police (South East).
A crime team was called to the spot. The limbs were had been cut off and stuffed in the bag while the rest of the body was in the carton, said the senior officer.
The body was sent to a mortuary and a case under section 302 (murder) and 201 (destruction of evidence) of the Indian Penal Code was registered, he said.
The police have many teams to find the identity of the woman.
DCP Biswal said they are also trying to find out from nearby police stations if there has been a complaint about a missing woman aged between 25 and 30 years in the past few days.
