Former Delhi chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Saturday confirmed that she would be a part of the Congress' election campaign in the city but ruled out contesting the elections in Delhi.

"I will be active for the Congress, no doubt about that, but I don't want to contest the election," Dikshit told ANI in Delhi.

Meanwhile, senior Congress leader PC Chacko said that the three-time chief minister of Delhi had held two-three meetings with other senior Congress leaders and would work for the party's poll campaign in Delhi.

"There were two-three meetings with Sheila Dikshit and others Delhi leaders, with Rahulji (Rahul Gandhi) also. So, they have decided to work collectively. They will all be part of the campaign and especially Sheila Dikshit will be part of the campaign," said Chacko.

The former Kerala governor's fifteen-year rule in Delhi ended last year when AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal defeated her by a margin of over 22,000 votes from the New Delhi constituency and went on to become the Chief Minister.

The Delhi Assembly was subsequently dissolved on November 4.
