After the BJP's landslide victory the party is now all set to pick the mayors to its three corporations --- North, South and East.

"The process of selection of potential candidates has been going on for a long time, it is only now that the party can focus on finalising names," said a senior BJP official.

"We are expecting to notify the mayor candidates by 15th May," he added.

There will be three women mayors this time. This is because as per a rule under the Delhi Municipal Act, the first year of the new corporation is reserved for women candidates in the position of mayor. So far the names that have emerged as the likely choices include Kamaljeet Sehrawat and Shikha Rai from South, Preeti Aggarwal and Anju Jain from North and between Himanshi Pandey and Neema Bhagat in the East.

Sehrawat, who has won from Dwarka, has been the Delhi BJP Mahila Morcha chief was made the party's city unit vice-president in the party's city executive committeee by Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari this January.

According to party officials, Sehrawat was picked for her good work in the women's wing. The other choice for the South Corporation is Greater Kailash's Shikha Rai, 52, who too has been a member of the party's Mahila Morcha. Rai, who is a Supreme Court lawyer has been an active party worker. While Rohini's Preeti Agarwal, 43, who is the winner from Rohini has been an active member and a social worker.

Meanwhile, Neema Bhagat from east Delhi's Geeta Colony ward is a potential choice, as she has been a party worker and Mahila Morcha president.
