US national duped of $2 million by Noida firm

The accused identified as Himanshu Khatri hired less experienced candidates by misrepresenting their identities and sent forged CV's of them to the US.

A 35-year-old US national was duped of two million dollars (Rs 14 crore) by a Noida-based firm. The victim identified as Phill Alaph, Director and CEO of a US-based tech company Vsolay Inc. alleged that he had been fraudulently cheated for over a decade by the Noida based IT company My Mind infotech on the pretext of providing software developers from India to build technology for them.

The accused identified as Himanshu Khatri hired less experienced candidates by misrepresenting their identities and sent forged CV's of them to the US.

"For years Khatri has been running this syndicate for years and charges a hefty an amount for these unqualified personals," Phill alleged.

Over the years Khatri has duped the victim of $2 million. The accused has sent forged CV, government IDs and educational documents of candidates to the company.

After cheating the company for many years Khatri has sent a useless software written by a fresher and billing him for an experienced developer.

After the initial investigation, Phill came to know about the fraud and came to India in September. He submitted a written complaint to the police. He even lodged a complained with the Economic Offence wing of the Delhi police. Police after making a preliminary investigation registered an FIR against Himanshu Khatri and a probe has been initiated.

"Noida Sector 20 police station has registered an FIR for cheating, forgery and criminal breach of trust under Sections 420/406/408 of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against Himanshu Khatri who is running the IT company "My Mind Infotech. We are checking on the allegations made by the victim," said a senior police officer.
