Mahesh Sharma, Union Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, felicitated Raksha Gopal, who topped the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class XII examination, at the Amity International School on Wednesday. Gopal scored 99.6 per cent in the examination.

Congratulating Gopal, Sharma said: "She has made a serious contribution towards Prime Minister's Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign. She has not only made her teachers and residents of Noida proud, but the entire nation. Our country is on the verge of getting another Kalpana Chawla. It's our PM's dream that the girls of the country should move forward and achieve glorious heights in all possible fields."

Calling her an inspiration for millions of girls in India, he further said: "We could never imagine someone scoring more than 99 per cent in humanities stream. But Raksha has made that possible, and in the process made our dreams come true."

Meanwhile, school Chairperson Amita Chauhan thanked the government for motivating the students to achieve their dreams. She also proudly mentioned that the lowest score at the school is 63 per cent.
