Upon investigation, the police found that the accused has not been issued a driving license, moreover, he used a fake identity to register with Uber as a driver.
An Uber driver has been arrested for allegedly trying to kidnap a woman, who had booked the cab from Kundli area of Haryana. The accused named Sanjay alias Sanju was arrested from Sonepat. According to the complainant, Sanjay tried locking her in the car and also threatened her from leaving the car.
Upon investigation, the police found that the accused has not been issued a driving license, moreover, he used a fake identity to register with Uber as a driver.
The complainant, Seema (name changed) had booked an Uber from Kundli to Rohini Sector-3, however, the cab arrived with a white number plate. After few more checks, she decided to get off the car, but the driver locked the vehicle and threatened her but after several attempts, Seema successfully managed to get off the car. Later, she registered a complaint with Mahendra Park police station about the incident.
After ascertaining the location of the cab with help of Uber, Sanjay was arrested from Sonepat. During the investigation, Sanjay failed to produce his driving license and also the commercial number plate of his vehicle. "He was lying drunk in his car. He could not produce his driving license, we are still investigating about how he faked his identity with Uber," said Aslam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, North-West district.
Sanjay was driving a white numbered plate car, which made Seema question his intentions. During the investigation, the accused driver could not present the commercial license for the car that he has been using for commercial services.

- The police have recovered one white swift car which Sanjay was driving with Uber using a fake identity, and without the commercial number plate.
