Two sisters found dead at their home in Paschim Vihar

Two septuagenarian sisters were found murdered under mysterious circumstance in their flat in Outer Delhi’s Paschim Vihar area on Thursday afternoon. The house was found ransacked and the cops have suspected this as a case of robbery.

According to the police, the deceased have been identified as 75-years-old Usha Pathak and 70-year-old Asha Pathak, duo real sisters were residing in A block, house No, 6 Pachim Vihar. 

Police said Usha was a retired lecturer in a college in UP’s Hapur, Ghaziabad while her younger sister Asha was posted as a librarian in Ministry of Agriculture, Govt. of India in New Delhi. 

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Outer Delhi, Seju Kuruvilla said the incident came into light around 3:30 pm on Thursday after the police received a PCR call of a double murder inside a flat.

“The maid came to work inside the house and spotted the two dead. Following which she informed the neighbours who then called police. A team was rushed to the spot,” said Kuruvilla.

Police said that the deceased Usha was found strangulated to death while her sister Asha was stabbed to death by a sharp edge weapon. Both bodies were found in a flat situated at second floor and the house was found ransacked

“The Crime team and Centre for Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team were called at the spot. The teams collected the samples and evidence from the crime scene and the bodies were sent to autopsy,” said Kuruvilla.

Prima facie, the investigating officers have suspected the role of any known persons involved in the crime who were attached with the family earlier. 

“It has come to light that entry to flat was friendly and after murder it was ransacked. The details of missing valuables are yet to be find out. The deceased were unmarried and staying in the flat for the past several years,” said a senior police officer.

Police are collecting more details about the incidents and investigating the case with all possible angles.
