Two members of criminal gang held in Delhi

The Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested two key members of an interstate criminal gang run by Ashwani Khatri, who is involved in various cases of snatching, extortion, threats, attempt to murders cases, in the area of outer Delhi and adjoining areas of Delhi-Haryana border. Two loaded pistols along with a brand new sports bike were recovered from their possession.

According to senior police officers, an information was received from sources that the dreaded criminal namely Ashwani Khatri, who is a resident of Narela in Delhi, presently in jail, is still running the syndicate from inside the jail through his two main associates, Jaidev and Aman, both from Narela.

DCP Special Cell, PS Kushwah said that the following surveillance, it was on April 7 that on a specific information, a raid was conducted in Narela and Aman alias Danger and his associate Jaidev, were apprehended after a brief shootout with the police team, near the Smriti Van Park.

"Two illegal loaded arms, ammunition and one brand new motorcycle were recovered from their possession," Kushwah said.

Both these criminals revealed during interrogation that they had snatched various motorcycles at gunpoint from the areas of Kundli, Sonipat, Haryana and Narela, Delhi. They snatched Rs 4000 from one person at Highway near Singhu Border in Delhi.
