The Special Cell of the Delhi Police on Friday arrested two alleged drug peddlers. The police recovered over six kilograms of high quality heroin from their possession.

The accused were identified as Uttarakhand resident Pannalal alias Vinod (38) and Nigerian national Ema (24) who has been in India from 2017 on a tourist visa.

According to the police, Ema has been involved in drug peddling for two years. However, Vinod has been peddling drugs for over 15 years. He had developed good connections with people selling drugs in Madhya Pradesh's Mandsaur. The accused were arrested from the district park in Paschim Vihar, where Vinod was supposed to meet Ema to deliver a consignment. The trap to nab the duo was laid after the police received a tip-off about a drug trafficker reaching the place to deliver a consignment.

Briefing about the arrest, the deputy commissioner of police, Special Cell, Sanjeev Kumar Yadav, said, "The department had information about Vinod reaching Paschim Vihar to deliver the drugs. Before the operation, we had also identified Ema."
