He was even involved with the Neeraj Bawana Gang," said Vijay Kumar, DCP, West.

The police received a complaint from a resident of Saraswati Garden, Rakesh Godara regarding a theft of Rs 10 lakh and 30,000 foreign currency. He also told the police that he suspected his ex-servant Ratan to be involved as he had gone missing soon after the incident.

During the investigation, it came to fore that Ratan was employed a month ago by Godara, however, after his behaviour changed and he got involved in substance abuse, his services were terminated.

On April 11, Godara had gone to Kota in connection with some work. The next day when he came to know through his business partner Lovely that Ratan had come back to his residence at midnight on the pretext of having some work in Delhi and the following morning requested him to let him stay there for a night.

Lovely believed Ratan and allowed him to spend the night at their house shared by him and Godara. Ratan later informed Daljeet and Jasbir and let them come inside the premises while Lovely was sleeping.

Both the accused decamped with the cash and Ratan pretended as if he was unaware of anything. However, after incessant efforts, Daljeet was arrested from Hauz Khas area and during sustained interrogation, he confessed that the heist was of Rs 50 lakhs and the original plan was to flee to Bangkok and return only once everything was settled.
