Two men abducted, drugged, and raped a minor girl, whom they knew from before, in south-west Delhi's Bindapur area on Wednesday. The accused, identified as Manjeet, 27, and Vikas, 26, have been arrested and the Hyundai Verna car used in the commission of the crime has also been seized, police said.

According to the police, the 17-year-old girl was on her way to school around 8 am. When she reached the Uttam Nagar Metro station, the duo came there in the car and offered her a lift. Vikas was acquainted with the girl, as his sister was married to a neighbour of the victim. In fact, the two had recently met during his sister's wedding. Hence, she accepted the offer.

In her complaint, the girl has alleged that the accused then offered her a drink, which was laced with sedatives. She then lost her consiousness and woke up in a room. Instead of taking her to school, the accused had taken her to a rented accommodation on the Gurugram border.

The two men then dropped her outside her home by 3 pm. When the family members questioned her about her whereabouts, she narrated her ordeal to them. Around two hours later, the family members made a PCR call and informed the police.

Police sources said when the girl getting into the car, a friend of her brother had spotted her and identified Manjeet as well. Her family members then reached Manjeet's home and even had an argument with his family members. The girl's family also called Vikas to their home and beat him up.

While Vikas was arrested on Wednesday, Manjeet was nabbed on Thursday. The police have also identified the flat used in the commission of the crime, and it belongs to one of Manjeet's friend.

"On the basis of the girls complaint, a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered at the Bindapur police station. Further investigation is on," DCP (south-west) Surender Kumar said.
