The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Friday launched a mobile app to provide passengers with 'lost and found facility at airports', 'tracking complaint/request status', and 'technical consultancy in security and fire services'.

Till 2015, the CISF ran a 'lost and found web application' on its official website to assist passengers who left behind their valuables at the airport. While the website received many accolades, the agency came up with the idea to create an application, with added features like tracking facility.

Hemendra Singh, CISF PRO, said, "The web version of this application did not consist the facility to raise a complaint or request by a user. It had to wait for airports to upload the items found at their respective airports on the web application."

The CISF felt a need to make this application more citizen-centric and include a two-way communication process where people can easily approach and register their complaints/request for their lost items.
