Three injured in scuffle at Delhi's Govindpuri area

The Govindpuri police received three calls at 6 am on Sunday morning reporting a firing incident at Block B, Transit Camp. When police personnel reached the spot, there was no one to be found.

On investigating locals, the found that an argument had broken out between two men near the Shiv Mandir over the issue of making a compromise in a previous criminal case involving their respective friends. After initial scuffle, both the boys called their friends. This enhanced the argument and it turned heated. In the scuffle between the two groups, two received gunshot wounds while the third was injured in the assault.

They were taken to the AIIMS trauma centre. The three have been identified as 29-year-old Dheeraj alias Monu, 24-year-old Narender and Neeraj, all resident of B Block Transit Camp, Govindpuri.

The doctors at the trauma centre said that the condition of the three is stable, however, they are unfit for giving a statement. A man identified as Kadir alias Lalla and his friends had allegedly fired at the other party. Teams have been formed to trace and nab the accused. An FIR under section 307 of the IPC and the Arms Act has been registered.
