Three illegal arms suppliers arrested by Delhi Police

Three persons involved in trading of illegal arms have been arrested by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. The gang based in Rajasthan has so far supplied over 600 pistols in Rajasthan and Delhi -NCR.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as Rakesh (37), Kamal alias Kamlesh (36) and Alok Jaiswal (35). 21 sophisticated country-made pistols with four live cartridges were recovered from the possession of the accused. A Santro car used for the transportation of consignment of illegal arms has also been seized by the police," said PS Kushwah, DCP, Special Cell.

On February 17, the police were informed that Rajasthan-based arms dealer Rakesh Rathor would visit the national Capital in order to supply the weapons to a criminal in the area. A trap was laid and the team spotted them near Commonwealth village link road. On zeroing down the suspects, the police chased and later arrested them. The illegal sophisticated pistols were procured from Sendhwa area in Madhya Pradesh.

The accused men told the police that they have been supplying arms since 2012. "Rakesh has supplied around 600 pistols in Rajasthan and NCR area. Kamal was earlier involved in a case of theft also," added Kushwah.

Rakesh worked as a labourer in Rajasthan. He has done his B.Com from Jhalawad, Rajasthan. He has been involved in several criminal cases of Arms Act, NDPS Act and Extortion cases. He started dealing in arms to earn more and easy money.
