Two police personnel were injured in the encounter

The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested three criminals after an encounter in Ecotech-3 area in Greater Noida on Thursday afternoon. Two police personnel were injured in the encounter.
According to police at around 1:00 pm, five men on two bikes were heading towards Surajpur. “Routine checking was going on at Surajpur area. At around 1 pm, five miscreants on two bikes openly fired at us at the check post and then tried to run away,” said Suniti, Superintendent of Police (rural), Gautam Budh Nagar.
After they fired at the checkpost, the criminals moved into a forest like area.
“Nearby police stations were informed to nab the criminals. The criminals kept firing at the police in order to flee away and rushed inside a forested area,” added Suniti.
The chase lasted for around two hours after which police shot and arrested three criminals while the other two managed to run away. The three nabbed persons have been identified as Shyamveer, Krishna and Vikas. During the encounter, two police personnel, HCP Vikas, and constable Nitin Kumar, were injured.
“The three criminals are critical and have been admitted at the district hospital. The two police officials are also said to be critical,” said a senior police officer.
