Three gangsters of Neeraj Bawana gang arrested by Crime Branch of Delhi Police

The Crime Branch of the Delhi Police claimed to have arrested three members of Neeraj Bawana gang, on Thursday. The gang members have been identified as Vaasu Sharma alias Bunti (30) and Yogesh (27), both residents of Jahangirpuri and the third as Sarjeev alias Sanju (24) of the Mahindra Park area, said a police official. The police official said that Vaasu was a parole jumper from the Tihar Jail in a sensational double murder case in 2015, in which two members of the rival Rajesh Bawana gang, were killed. The two deceased identified as Anil Gujjar and Ishwar alias CP were killed by him and his associates.

The police have claimed to have solved a sensational shootout of a businessman on August 11 in the Mahindra Park police station area.

Locals had also staged agitations to get the accused arrested involved in the shootout.

The Crime Branch team had got an information about the whereabouts of the accused and had laid a trap near the expected place of their arrival and all the three criminals were successfully apprehended in a stolen Swift car.

"The accused Vaasu, a desperate criminal was lodged in jail for the past six years in several cases of murder, attempt to murder, etc. He came in contact with the dreaded gangster Neeraj Bawana and joined his gang. Accused Sanju is involved in several cases including a sensational murder case and Yogesh was sentenced to six years in a robbery case in 2012 at Burari. He was recently released from jail," additional CP Crime Branch, Ajit Kumar Singh, said.

The police have seized two US-made pistols, one country-made pistol and one stolen Swift car from their possession.
