Three auolifters, including minor, held; five two-wheelers recovered by Dwarka police

Three auto-lifters, including a juvenile, were arrested and five two-wheelers were recovered by the Dwarka District police Monday.

Ahead of the Independence Day, extensive patrolling and vehicle checking was being carried out round-the-clock to enhance the sense of security among the public of Dwarka District. A special drive of "Jaguar Motorcycle Patrolling" was also implemented where teams of police staff patrol on motorcycles to apprehend criminals.

On Monday at 8:45 pm, the patrolling team of the Jafar Pur Kalan police station were passing through the Khaira Village road near the cremation ground at the Gopal Nagar Extension area, when they noticed three men on two motorcycles without number plates coming towards Khaira Village road from the Najafgarh side, Anto Alphonse, DCP (Dwarka) said.

The team signalled them to stop their motorcycles, but instead of stopping they fled in different directions on their two-wheelers. The Jaguar team on two motorcycles chased the motorcycles, stopped and overpowered them. On inquiry, they could not provide any documentation about the motorcycles they were riding.

During the interrogation, the three were identified as 19-year-old Gaurav, 19-year-old Ritesh alias Chintu and the third one a juvenile. Both the motorcycles recovered from them were found

Stolen. Two more motorcycles and a scooty were also recovered at their instance. They revealed that they were active in Delhi and Haryana and that they had never been arrested, the police said.

Gaurav revealed that he is school dropout and has studied up to class 10. His father works in Delhi Jal Board Department as a driver on a private basis. He got involved in carjacking for fulfilling his lust for drugs and liquor with his other associates. While Ritesh revealed that he is also school dropout and has studied till class 8. He, too, indulged in carjacking to meet his need for drugs and liquor.

The Jaguar team on two motorcycles chased the motorcycles, stopped and overpowered them. On inquiry, they could not provide any documentation about the motorcycles they were riding.
