Three arrested for murder of sisters in Delhi's Alipur area

The North-East Delhi police have arrested three people and claim to have solved the double murder of two sisters on Wednesday.

On September 19, two sisters Rukhsar (22) and Nabita (19), a resident of North-East Seelampur area, had left their house for an interview. Their bodies were found in a drain at Rohini's Alipur area on Monday evening.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East) Atul Kumar Thakur, the arrested accused have been identified as Lucky alias Gulshan (35), Prem alias Kake (31) and Shivam (21).

"During interrogation, Rukhsar's husband Lucky disclosed that he had planned to eliminate his wife. Lucky conspired with his friends Prem and Shivam to kill his wife Rukhsar. On directions of Lucky, the accused Shivam made a phone call to Rukhsar for a job proposal. Shivam was not been known to Rukhsar. She decided to go for the interview with her younger sister Nabita on September 19. She reached ISBT Kashmere Gate bus stop where accused Shivam met both the sisters. He offered spiked cold drinks to both and when both become unconscious, the two others accused Lucky and Prem joined Shivam. They strangulated both the sisters to death in the car and dumped the bodies in a nearby drain in Alipur," said DCP North-East Atul Kumar Thakur.

"Deceased Rukhsar and Lucky tied knots two years back. Lucky was assaulting her for dowry. After a sometime Rukhsar left her husband Lucky and started living with parents," DCP said.

"Lucky was forcing Rukhsar to stay with him but she was not ready. So he planned to eliminate her," DCP further said.
