Three arrested for burglary in Delhi's Paharganj area

The central district of Delhi police on Wednesday arrested three people from Paharganj area in connection to burglary from a pharmacy store in Paharganj.

According to the police, the accused have been identified as, Narul Hasan (19) of Badaun, UP, Salman (20) of Amroha, UP and Raman Bhatia (37) resident of Bihari Colony.

"In November a complainant reported that a gang of burglars broke in his pharmacy store in Paharganj and fled with a locker containing Rs 19 lakh cash," said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Mandeep Randhawa.

During the investigation, the police narrowed down on one of the suspects namely Narul and apprehended him on Wednesday. He admitted his involvement in the crime. Further, on his instance, Raman and Salman were also apprehended from Shahdara area.

During interrogation, it was revealed that Raman works as a delivery boy. He delivered medicines to the pharmacy store of the victim. He was also working at a gym, where he met Salman who used to come there often. The duo hatched a plan to rob the pharmacy store. They also roped in Narul Hasan, a scrap dealer and Rajeev, a vegetable vendor. Narul was earlier arrested by UP Police in a case of Arms Act.

Rs 7.30 lakh and a Yamaha R15 bike have been recovered, police said.
