Three arrested for attempted murder in South East Delhi, two pistols recovered

Three people were arrested on Thursday by the team of Special Staff, South-East district for firing and attempted murder case. The three accused had attacked Shadab Khan, a resident of Jamia Nagar on May 3,1 this year.

During the investigation, it was revealed that around 1-and-half-month ago, there was an altercation between a parking attendant and Shadab's nephew at a private parking place in Batla House, run by the accused Shakeb.

Thereafter, the accused met the complainant Khan to settle the matter but the compromise talks soon turned into hot arguments and Shakeb misbehaved with the victim. After that, the accused started to hatch a plan to teach Khan a lesson.

On May 31, Shakeb, along with his friends Talib and Rizwan, stopped Shadab Khan on the road around 1.20 am, while he was heading home. They started hurting and abusing him after which they pulled out pistols and opened fire on him. However, the victim managed to escape.

A case was filed and keeping in view of the gravity of the case, further investigation of this case was handed over to Special Staff of South-East district.

On July 14, the investigating team got the information that the three accused were trying to escape from Delhi, so a trap was laid near ISBT, Sarai Kale Khan. All the three accused were apprehended while they were trying to flee from Delhi.

During sustained interrogation, the accused persons disclosed that they had procured illegal arms from Western UP, and that they kept it with them just for show-off purpose and to create terror among the locals. Two country-made pistols along with 2 live cartridges have been recovered from their possession.
